John retired at the end of the 2009 school year.

The staff and students at Del Amgio wish to express our deepest heartfelt gratitude to John for his years of service at Del Amigo High School. John made each our lives better. His dedication and service to everyone at our school and in the community was expemplary. Each day he touched our hearts, uplifted our spirits, and encouraged us to be the person we were striving to be. We are all a better person for having known him. We will miss him! Thank you John for all you have done. Most of all, thank you for loving us when we were having a hard time loving ourselves. We will always hold you in gratitude. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
