Del Amigo is beginning a two week Pennies for Patients fundraiser.
Please join us in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Series campaign. Your support will help fund the therapies and treatments that help save the lives of blood cancer patients today.
Our number one priority is to provide a safe environment for all students, that it is conducive to their learning and reaching their full academic, social and emotional potential. One of the challenges that every school across the country must address in order to reach this goal is the issue of school climate specific to bullying behavior and connectedness to school.
Our district and our school continue to work vigorously to combat bullying behavior and ensure that students are engaged and connected to our school; however, this task is a work in progress. In order for our district and site efforts to become even more effective, we are in the process of collecting multiple sources of data to inform our efforts.
During the week of February 8, 2016 all Del Amigo students will be taking an anonymous online survey prepared by our District’s Climate Committee. This short survey should take about 20 to 25 minutes and will be administered in your child’s classes. The data generated from this district wide survey will assist all sites and the district in their ongoing efforts to effectively address bullying behavior, student engagement, and school connectedness.
If for any reason you do not want your child to take this anonymous survey, please fill out the linked form and return it to your site principal prior to the scheduled administration date.
If you would like to view the survey, it is available for your perusal on the district’s web site at http://www.srvusd.k12.ca.us/safe_schools and look for the “2015-16 Student Engagement and Connectedness Survey” by grade span.
Thanks in advance for your support of our efforts!
Amy Gillespie, Principal
Dear Del Amigo Parents,
In an effort to reduce student stress and respond to the evolving instructional practices, the San Ramon Valley Unified School District revised its homework policy for the 2015-2016 school year in order to:
As a follow-up to this work, the District is surveying students, parents and teachers on the effectiveness of the revised policy.
Del Amigo High School will be administering student surveys from February 8, 2016 until February 16, 2016 during the school day. If you prefer that your child not take the survey, please inform Del Amigo of your preference.
Additionally, we value your feedback as parents and hope that you are willing to participate in a parent survey. Survey results will be used to help identify the best practices for homework and improve the implementation of our homework policy. The survey is anonymous and should take 5-10 minutes to complete. Below is a link to the survey:
The survey closes on February 16, 2016. If you have questions or concerns about your child’s homework, please contact your child’s teacher or me. If you have questions about the Homework Policy or this survey, please check the District’s homework policy page or contact Director of Instruction, Jason Reimann at email@example.com. Thank you for your feedback and support.
2nd Semester Update
Del Amigo students and staff are excited to start the new term. Six students have graduated from Del Amigo since the start of the school year and we anticipate an additional seven students meeting graduation requirements before spring break. We are excited to meet and welcome new students and families to Del Amigo, and show them that they can have the same success.
Last quarter we offered a studio style Music class, and it has really taken off. This quarter Del is offering a “sister,” class called Music in Literature. Students are excited because this curriculum will take them through the evolution of music into contemporary styles. As always, the Del Amigo community appreciate the continued support of the District and Community.

Del Amigo 11th graders will be participating in the online CAASPP test the week of April 19-22.
